The album "The Sun of the Dead" is a studio version of the program presented by "Noises of Russia" in the spring of 2014 at the Equinox festival in Toksovo, in the St. Petersburg Museum of Sound and the Moscow club Zavtra.

The main material was recorded at “P.S. Studio” (St. Petersburg) on Christmas 2016, then finalized by participants remotely in self-isolation during a pandemic in spring 2020.

The album and its central composition are named after the classic text by Ivan Shmelev, quotes from which are carefully compiled into poetic lines.

"...In their new full-length album, Noises of Russia perform their program in the genre of the parable about the journey of the Soul in the Afterlife.
It begins with Death, when earthly pains leaves the deceased and he dissolves in the world that belongs to him now and forever with complete mutuality – now he also belongs to the world...forever (fragment from Sasha Sokolov's "Your pains will pass away soon...")
Next, the deceased traditionally suffers Torments of Hell, here in a Buddhist version (classic description of Naraka, Buddhist hell).
Then the "Sun of the Dead" rises over this twilight world. Lyrics for this track compiled from the work of Ivan Shmelev.
After that the program reaches its semantic climax – notable track from the golden era of NR, "Child". The connection between three worlds, nether, middle and upper, manifests from the song of a dying child about a heavenly boat.
The "Heavenly Seed" by Macarius of Egypt follows, flowing into "Anima Christi", the prayer to the Soul of Christ.
The epilogue contains a compilation of the classic text by T.S. Eliot, unambiguously connecting two old friends - the Beginning and the End. It's closes the circle of composition, the album and life in general, when death is in the beginning of each true biography. And then there remains only the ascent to the true Heaven. Which we also wish you."

Альбом «Солнце мёртвых» – студийный вариант программы, представленной «Шумами России» весной 2014 г. на фестивале Равноденствия в Токсово, в питерском Музее Звука и московском клубе Zavtra.

Основной материал был записан в P.S. Studio (Санкт-Петербург) в Рождество 2016 г., затем доработан участниками дистанционно в самоизоляции во время пандемии весной 2020 г.

Альбом и его центральная композиция названы в честь классического текста Ивана Шмелёва, цитаты из которого бережно скомпилированы в поэтические строки.

"…Шумы России в своём новом полноформатном альбоме выступают в жанре притчи о путешествии души в загробном мире, известном как «хождение по мукам». Начинается оно со смертью, когда покойного покидают земные боли и он растворяется в принадлежащем ему отныне навсегда мире с полной взаимностью: он тоже теперь навсегда принадлежит миру (фрагмент из Саши Соколова "Скоро, скоро отойдут боли твои..."). Затем традиционно претерпеваются адские истязания, здесь в буддийском изложении, (классическое описание Нарака, буддийского ада), после чего над этим сумеречным миром встаёт "Солнце Мёртвых", скомпилированное из труда Ивана Шмелёва. В смысловой кульминации программы пьеса "Дитя" золотого периода ШР – через песню умирающего ребёнка о небесной ладье возникает связь трёх миров, подземного, дольнего и горнего, а затем "Небесное семя" Макария Египетского прорастает в молитву к Душе Христа "Anima Christi". В эпилоге компиляция классического текста Томаса Элиота, недвусмысленно соединяющего старинных друзей – Начало и Конец, венчающего кольцевую композицию произведения, альбома и жизни в целом, когда смерть оказывается в начале каждой подлинной биографии, и далее остаётся только восхождение к подлинному Небу. Чего и вам желаем."
